Aircrafts have been involved in the rescue operation for Russian alpinists on the mount of Mkinvartsveri of teh Greater Caucasus Range in Georgia. The group of four alpinists has stopped at the height of 3700 meters on the slope of the mount.
The United National Movement ruling party of Georgia has proposed to suspend the pre-election campaign in the country for two days with regard to the 4th anniversary of the August war, which took place in 2008.
The Prime Time Georgian newspaper has launched the Week of Memory in honor of the soldiers killed in the August war in 2008. Various events including the symbolical Red Poppies rally have been scheduled for the week.
