Statement by the Georgian Futsal Federation

Fusal team from the so-called South Ossetia participated in the unofficial tournament of futsal, which was called by its organizers Europe`s championship, along with the teams from Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Norway and Catalonia. The tournament was held in the city of Brest, Belarus. Georgian Futsal Association and the Georgian Football Federation have urgently objected to this fact by sending notes of protests to UEFA and FIFA.
The representatives of the two sport bodies of Georgia say it was a commercial tournament and had nothing to do with the championships held in the aegis of FIFA or UEFA.
`This team was invited to an absolutely unintelligible world championship and now they were invited to the so-called European championship. It must be emphasized that it was a commercial tournament, which had nothing to do with the championships organized by UEFA of FIFA,` representative of the Georgian Footsal Association Giorgi Darjania told Rustavi2 today.
