Georgian national arrested for cocaine smuggling

One of the 30 people, who have been arrested in a police operation in Bulgaria yesterday, is Georgian national. There are also 12 Italian citizens, one Slovenian and one Romanian among the 30 detainees. All others are Bulgarians. The police operation was carried out in cooperation with the Italian police and Europol.
The cocaine was sold in three districts in Italy. The investigations revealed many organizations which smuggle cocaine onto the Italian market. Police found a very big segment, which is responsible for smuggling 40 tons of cocaine into Italy annually.
The identity of the Georgian national has not been reported yet. Georgian embassy tries to get more information about the crime.
