Ivanishvili to transfer 10mln GEL to state budget

21.07.12 13:35

Leader of the Georgian Dream coalition, Bidzina Ivanishvili will transfer ten million GEL aimed for assisting the disaster regions to the account of the state budget, which was earlier indicated by the court for transferring the fines. Press speaker of the leader, Maia Panjikidze introduced the statement of Ivanishvili to media at the briefing today.

`I took a decision and this time, I will transfer ten million GEL on the account of the state budget indicated by the court. I will transfer the exact amount of money on the same account with the same mechanism after the government completes counting the damage inflicted on to Georgia`s regions by the disaster,` Ivanishvili says in the statement.

Leader of the ruling majority, MP Petre Tsiskarishvili responded to the statement of the opposition leader. He said the ten million is just a drop in the sea and it cannot change a climate as the elimination of disaster consequences need much more.

`From political point of view, it is an immoral proposal, as politicians remember people only before elections and they try to bargain with the fate of the affected citizens,` Tsiskarishvili said.
