Georgia`s First Lady visited Samtredia Medical Center and got familiarized with the work of the clinic. Sandra Roelofs personally monitored the readiness of the clinic and its staff for serving the beneficaries of the new state insurance program.
First Lady discussed the basic directions of the health care reform in the country together with the staff of the clinic. She said the number of the insured would increase significantly from September 1, 2012, since the new insurance policy is enforced and medical service will become available for more citizens of Georgia, including the disabled.
Sandra Roelofs also focused on the necessity to increase the qualification of the medical personnel in all clinics of Georgia, as well as the growth of salaries.
Nine persons have been arrested within the investigation launched after finding the scandalous videos of human torture and sexual abuse. The videos were along weapons and drugs in a secret store in Samegrelo last week.
Vladimer Bedukadze, former employ of the prison, who obtained and released the scandalous videos of prisoners` torture last autumn, has published an open letter to majority MP Tinatin Khidasheli.
Transparency International Georgia NGO has released a special statement regarding the decision of the Georgian judiciary to free the author of the prisoners` torture videos Vladimer Bedukadze from criminal responsibility completely.
Police have arrested four persons near the Samtredia Bridge in the city of Kutaisi today. According to the police, they are suspected of drug-dealing. Currently, the detainees are passing drug test.
