Opposition holds anti-government rallies in Kirgizstan
Anti-governmental protests have been resumed in Kirgizstan - supporters of the opposition assembled in the city of Osh - a scene of bloody ethnic clashes in 2010; this time the demonstration was peaceful. Protestors were demanding amendments to the constitution and the fair conduct of local self-government elections scheduled for March 4th. Over ten thousand people participated in the rally.
Locals of the village of Ghurta of Khulo district of Adjara Region are expected to hold a large-scale protest rally. They are urging government to investigate the incident which took place in the village on March 8, 2014.
Russian helicopters have violated Georgian airspace - several helicopters flew over the Georgian controlled territory from the occupied Tskhinvali Region yesterday and from the occupied Abkhazia today.
President of Georgia paid tribute to the memory of Georgian national hero, Zhiuli Shartava on his 70th anniversary. Giorgi Margvelashvili announced at the memorial today that by commemorating Zhiuli Shartava, he was also paying tribute to all, who fell in the tragedy of Abkhazia.
