Georgian wine-making tradition to be granted new status
The documentary shot by Georgian movie director Merab Kokochashvili has been sent to UNESCO today. The film is about the tradition of Georgian wine making in Kvevri - a wine-container made of clay with specific technologies, which is buried in the ground. The film author tells in details about the tradition of making and keeping wine in kvevris.
The film and several dozens of documents obtained by the Ministry of Culture, which refers to the Georgian method of wine-making, will be registered officially in the list of non-material heritage of UNESCO.
