Tbilisi discontented with treatment to Georgian rugby players in Russia
Upcoming rugby game between nationals teams of Georgia and Russia has been put into a political context. The Georgian team faced impediments when traveling to Sochi, Russia on Friday.
As reported, putting psychological pressure on the Georgian national rugby team started by creating small obstructions.
It was also reported, that the Russian side refused to give the match live broadcast.
Tbilisi has negatively responded to the Russian side`s decision. Georgian Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs said it was expected that the Russian side would do its best to create some problems to teh Georgian national team in order to hinder its victory in the match on the territory of Russian Federation.
Lado Vardzelashvili also said Tbilisi intends to send an official letter to the International Rugby Board and urge for appointing similar games with Russia on a neutral territory in the future.
Few days before the opening of the Sochi Winter Olympics, Russia has deployed its military ships from Sevastopol port to Sochi to counter any potential terrorist threat to the games. Two ships have been already sent towards Sochi, which will ensure security along the Black Sea Coast, official sources have reported.
