Avtandil Liparteliani to appear before Oslo Court tomorrow

10.05.12 12:13

Father of the only Georgian victim of the mass shooting on Norway`s island of Utoya will appear before the Oslo Court tomorrow. Liparteliani told Rustavi2 that he has prepared a speech, which he is going to read at the proceeding where the murder case of Tamta Liparteliani will be discussed. Liparteliani plans to demand life sentence at the strict regime prison for Breivik.

The hearings are closed for media. Under the rule of the judge, the interrogations of the survivors of the terror attack will not be covered by media either. Another Georgian survivor, Natia Chkhetiani will also testify at tomorrow`s hearing.

Since the hearings were resumed, people go to the court building and lay flowers and wreaths there to commemorate the mass shooting victims.

Breivik admits killing a total of 77 people in the Utoeya attack and a bombing in Oslo, both on 22 July 2011.

But he denies criminal responsibility, saying he acted in self-defence.
