Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates Annunciation today

Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates the day of the Annunciation today. The Holiday marks the revelation to Mary, the mother of Jesus by the archangel Gabriel that she would conceive a child to be born the Son of God.
Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, along with bishops conducted a holy mass at the Trinity Cathedral early today morning.
Worshipers, who are Fasting, today can eat fish.
Both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox faiths hold that the Annunciation took place in the then village of Nazareth, but differ as to where exactly. The Catholic Church of the Annunciation marks the site preferred by the former, while the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation marks that of the latter.
